PURPOSE: The mission of Golden Key International Honour Society is to enable members to realize their potential.

VALUES: Our core values include integrity, collaboration, innovation, respect, diversity, excellence and engagement.

ELIGIBILITY: Membership shall be granted by the chapter to undergraduate and graduate students in all academic disciplines who are recognized by their academic institution as ranking at least among the top 15% of their class/year group based on cumulative grade performance, or a comparable alternate standard approved by the International Leadership Council.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES: Golden Key believes in rewarding its members for their academic, leadership and service excellence. To this end, the Society annually provides over $1,000,000 (USD) in various scholarships and awards available solely to its members. Most notably are its $10,000 Graduate Scholar Awards and its $5,000 Undergraduate Achievement Scholarships. Scholarships are available to all members, regardless of discipline. The Society believes in the cultivation of leadership skills as part of personal and professional development. Golden Key offers members the chance to further their study and enrich their own leadership skills through campus and conference training, as well as though an online portal on the GK website. Members are offered numerous opportunities to serve at the Society's chapter, regional and international levels. The Society holds an International Summit biennial as well as annual regional summits in Australia (Asia-Pacific region), Canada, South Africa and the United States.

CHAPTER ACTIVITIES: Each chapter of Golden Key is encouraged to conduct activities that meet the needs of their local communities. These activities may include, but are not limited to, educational or academic events, volunteer and community service outreach or partnership events with other organizations. The Society strives to align itself with education-based service projects. Community service and public works are hallmarks of Golden Key. Through our chapters, Golden Key performs more than 100,000 hours of community service and public works annually.
